One is not relegated to a single profession however and jobs may be changed as the game progresses. Character mobility is decided by spinning a roulette which determines the range of your next move. As one roams the board, monster encounters prevail where one fights in order to progress further. Other board spaces open up other events and locations such as shops, bonuses, mini-games, and other random happenings. Special encounters where the outcome is decided by rock-scissors-paper matches also pop up from time to time. Special items which are not available through other means may be won from such chance battles. There are three possibilities for every battle - a win where the spoils go to the victor, a surrender where items and coins are lost, and death where the character wakes up in a church sans possessions but ready for another go.
