Rugrats - Totally Angelica
Rugrats is an animated television series created by Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó, and Paul Germain for Nickelodeon. The series premiered on August 11, 1991 and aired its last episode on June 8, 2004.
The show focuses on eight babies and their day-to-day lives, usually involving common life experiences that become adventures in the babies' imaginations. It was one of the first three Nicktoons and also aired on Nick Jr. in 1995. Reruns have currently been played on Nicktoons, and more recently, on Nickelodeon once again.
Rugrats: Totally Angelica is a video game based on the Rugrats series. It was released in for the Game Boy Color on May 30, 2000, and for the PlayStation on April 13, 2001.
Rugrats: Totally Angelica stars Angelica Pickles as she makes her way through a shopping mall in search of clothes and accessories to assemble an outfit worthy of winning a fashion show.
The game consists of six levels or floors, each with various storefronts. One of nine mini-game challenges is presented upon entering, with each win entitling players to select a prize that fits into the clothes, shoes, jewelry, makeup, or hair category. The items are necessary to stroll the catwalk and to receive points in the fashion show. A minimum number of points must be earned on each floor before advancing to the next.
Nearly every Rugrats baby appears at some stage in the game, and players have the ability to switch characters in some of the mini-games. Choose from catching frogs or finding bugs as Phil and Lil or play hide and seek as Tommy. Other mini-games include Kimi's Follow the Leader and Chuckie's Color Match. Other Rugrats characters like Reptar, Grandpa, and Fluffy appear as judges in the fashion show.
STORY:
The game starts off with Angelica Pickles becoming the proud owner of a brand new "Cynthia Dream Mall Fashion Show Queen" set, but unfortunately she can't get the box opened. After struggling and screaming, she jumps up and down on the box and throws it against the wall. Angelica then says loudly, "Hey, it's broken! Those mailmen need to be more careful! Now how am I gonna play Mall Fashion Snow Queen?". After thinking about it, she says "I know, I'll be the star!" Get ready to help Angelica star in her own fashion show.
GAMEPLAY:
Angelica is exploring the shopping mall in search of stores and items to win, Starting on the 1st floor, enter the shops to play games in order to win clothes and accessories for Angelica's fashion ensemble.
Enter a store to play a mini-game. By completing the mini-game, you can choose a prize. Collect as many clothes, wigs and accessories as you can, then enter the fashion show.
In the fashion show, play dress-up with Angelica. Create different outfits with the items you've won. The Rugrats babies, Fluffy the cat, Grandpa Lou and Reptar will judge your outfit. Each fashion show score earns you points toward the other mall floors. When you've won enough points, use the lift to go to the next floor. Each floor features different games and new items to win.
Stand in front of a shop and Tommy Pickles will tell you what game is inside. The items displayed in the store window show the types of prizes you can win in that game. Angelica can win shoes, clothing, hairstyles, hats, make-up, and jewelry in different stores.
Angelica can go to the fashion show each time she wins an item. Every trip down the catwalk earns points toward the next floor of the mall. You will have to visit the fashion show several times in order to earn enough points to visit the next floor.
